  • Yes. If you’re looking for a fun group that has a good time and is all in one place (for the most part), then yes, it is.

We have a Couch to 5k Program that will help you achieve that goal.

If you are looking for 1-on-1 coaching and instruction, our in-house coaches will assist with that for a fee. If you’re looking for motivation and to get different perspectives on running, it’s likely that we’re just the group you need!

  • ARC is the initial of Abuja Run Club. Arc is incidentally synonymous and rhymes with spark. We like to think that we are a charged group of runners!

ARCERS is the nickname for members of our community. It’s pronounced how you would pronounce ‘Markers’… but without the M. [aa’kers]

  • No, In reality, not all of us are fast even if most of us dream about being fast. We have runners of all paces in our club. Arcers who run anywhere from a 6-minute mile to a 15-minute mile. We all run together and make sure we take everyone along. Saturday sessions are usually split into 3 groups of different abilities.

  • Don't worry. The only way to get better is to run more! Running with others also distracts you from the good discomfort. This club is perfect for that!

Runners in this club love to talk about running (imagine that) and will give you more advice than you probably want 😆

  • Yes, that's what we’re saying. We will accommodate you and make sure we finish together safely. Although, the difficulty of some runs (especially Saturdays) varies.

It’s best to start gently if you are new to running or have had a long time away. Ask about the difficulty of the next run.

  • We agree that running alone gives you time to think or do some soul-searching. Sometimes though, we may need some motivation to get out on the road. That is where the club comes in. The club is a great way to socialize while running knowing you will get your alone runs on other days. We will also teach you how to run in a group.

  • It actually looks like a group of people running and having fun together. XD

On a serious note, Tuesdays are mainly for beginners. Thursdays are build-up runs of about 40-50 minutes for Saturday’s longer runs. Saturday runs are typically longer runs that build team morale and are fun!

  • As of now, there are 200+ registered members in the club and counting. On a good day with beautiful weather, we could have 30-45 people in a group run. On wet and cold days we may only be 12 or 16 people.

  • No, it’s not. This is a social group for adults. Adult conversations come up once in a while and we would like for everyone to be themselves.

Your child must be at least 16 years old in the year she joins. sign up to be first informed when we officially set up our Junior Arcers

  • Typically the majority of people in the club are distance runners. That doesn’t mean we don’t have a few sprinters or a walker or two. We only make sure that the walkers train hard to become runners and that is what we do on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It’s not about speed, it's participation we are looking for.

  • Yes, just send us the information about your race and we can post it for you on our FaceBook page. If you are trying to make money for a cause, please let us know. We love to promote races that help a charity!
